Bestwood Country Park

Today's walk was with Diane and Otis. It didn't start too well as Otis went tearing off into a field of horses, it reminded me of the Fenton video. Luckily some joggers spotted him and I managed to catch up with him before he got into the road by the entrance.

The park is built on a former colliery. By the entrance stands the winding house:-
We walked for about a mile through grassland on gentle hillocks and into a wooded area called "Big Wood". We kept Otis on the lead after his escapade but let him off again once we were into the woods:-
We went for lunch at the Horse and Groom in Linby and filled it with labradors. Otis eyeing up my steak and ale pie:-

I met up with my friend Diane and her puppy Otis this morning. The dogs had a great time playing with him.

Labrador Party

I took Milo and Bruno to see Otis who is 13 weeks old now and has doubled in size since I last saw him. Milo and Otis really hit it off, Bruno had a quick play and was then more interested in getting a fuss from Diane. They had a good romp around the house and we took them for a short walk in the local park.

Meet Otis

I visited my friend Diane today to see her 8 week old puppy. He is gorgeous and brought back a lot of puppy memories from when Milo and Bruno were this size. I will hopefully be taking them round to meet him in a couple of weeks time.

02/03/10 - Milo's 8th Birthday

I gave the dogs a birthday breakfast of some battered fish that was lurking at the back of my freezer and then drove out to Carsington Water and did a circuit - 8.5 miles. It was a beautiful spring day with clear blue skies and not many people around to spoil it.

To finish an enjoyable day, I saw my GP and the blood tests investigating the pain I had in my finger/knee joints have come back fine.The pain has gone now - although it was only slight, the concern was that it might be early signs of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
